  Crab Chowder  
 

1 pkg rock crab meat (6 oz/170 g)
2 tbsp butter (25 mL)
1/2 cup finely chopped onion (125 mL)
1/4 cup diced celery (50 mL)
2 tbsp flour (25 mL)
1/2 tsp salt (2 mL)
1/4 tsp pepper (1 mL)
3 cups milk (750 mL)
1 can cream of mushroom soup (10 oz/284 mL)
1 can corn kernels (12 oz/341 mL)
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Melt butter in large saucepan. Add onion and celery and saute until soft. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk and cream of mushroom soup. Heat. Add corn, bacon and crab meat. Simmer until heated thoroughly.

Serves six to eight.
